How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 22 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $29.50, the price the shares reached on 7 August 2026 after the fiscal first-quarter report, or fiscal second-quarter revenue below the $170 million low end of the company's guidance.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

Doximity's shares have run ahead of its guidance. They rose 64.4% in the three months to the 21 October 2026 close of $33.58. Over the same stretch, the company's own outlook points to fiscal second-quarter revenue barely above last year's and adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) well below it. The fiscal second-quarter report, expected around 5 November 2026, will show whether the business supports the recovery or whether it was only a rebound from an oversold low.
The rebound has real causes. On 6 August 2026 Doximity reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $156.6 million. That was up 7% year over year and above the company's $151–152 million guidance. It also raised full-year revenue guidance to $671–681 million from $664–676 million. RTTNews reported that the shares rose from a $20.66 close to $29.50 the next day.
Profit moved the other way. The same release cut full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance to $309–329 million from $323–335 million. Quarterly net income fell to $24.3 million from $53.3 million a year earlier. Management framed fiscal 2027 as an "AI investment year" with softer visibility into pharmaceutical advertising budgets when it first set guidance in May 2026, according to Seeking Alpha.
The recovery story is accelerating. Two partnership announcements came eight days apart: U.S. News & World Report on 13 October 2026 and Wolters Kluwer on 20 October 2026. Sell-side analysts have not followed. BofA Securities kept an Underperform rating on 20 October 2026 and raised its target only to $23. The shares now trade above most published targets ahead of a report the company has guided to near-flat growth. On that evidence, the odds lean slightly against them beating the S&P 500 over the next three months.
Bullish and bearish views on Doximity, Inc.
The bull case on Doximity, Inc. (DOCS), in brief: Revenue beat its own guidance. The bear case: Second-quarter guidance implies near-flat growth.
Bull case
- Revenue beat its own guidance. Fiscal first-quarter revenue of $156.6 million cleared the $151–152 million guide (company release, 6 August 2026). Another beat against the $170–171 million second-quarter guide would support the recovery.
- Full-year revenue guidance went up. On 6 August 2026 the company raised fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $671–681 million from the $664–676 million it set in May 2026.
- The clinical AI assistant gains licensed content. On 20 October 2026 Doximity and Wolters Kluwer announced that UpToDate clinical content will be built into Doximity Ask. In August, Chief Executive Jeff Tangney said Ask was the top-performing U.S.-based model on the NOHARM benchmark (RTTNews, 7 August 2026).
- A long-running data partner renewed. On 13 October 2026 Doximity extended its 13-year partnership with U.S. News & World Report. The deal covers Doctor Finder, Patient Connect and the Best Hospitals rankings data.
- Still highly profitable after the cut. Full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance of $309–329 million sits against revenue guidance of $671–681 million (company release, 6 August 2026).
Bear case
- Second-quarter guidance implies near-flat growth. The company guided to $170–171 million of revenue for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. A year earlier the same quarter brought in $168.5 million, which was up 23% (company release, 6 November 2025).
- Profit is shrinking. Second-quarter adjusted EBITDA guidance is $80.5–81.5 million, against $100.8 million a year earlier (company releases, 6 August 2026 and 6 November 2025). Fiscal first-quarter adjusted EBITDA fell 6% to $74.8 million.
- The shares sit above most targets. BofA Securities rates the stock Underperform with a $23 target (20 October 2026). Evercore ISI rates it In-Line and cut its target to $35 on 29 September 2026. On 10 July 2026 StockAnalysis showed a consensus target of $24.37 across 22 analysts.
- Momentum is stretched into the report. The 14-day relative strength index stood at 74.5 at the 21 October 2026 close. Readings above 70 are conventionally treated as overbought, and the report is about two weeks away.
- Drug-company ad budgets remain uncertain. Softer pharmaceutical advertising visibility shaped the May 2026 guidance. After the fiscal fourth-quarter report that month, the shares fell 9.8% to $52.72 (Benzinga).
Price setup
The last close was $33.58 on 21 October 2026, according to adjusted daily closes. That is 51.0% below the 52-week high of $68.50 and up 64.4% over three months. The recovery started at the $20.66 close on 6 August 2026. The shares reached $29.50 on 7 August 2026, after the fiscal first-quarter report, and have climbed further since.
Three levels frame the shares. The first is $29.50, the price after the August report; a fall back below it would erase all the gains since. Evercore ISI's $35 target sits just above the last close. BofA's $23 target sits near the pre-report price. The relative strength index of 74.5 shows how fast the shares have risen into the coming report.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- ~5 November 2026 (est.): fiscal second-quarter 2027 report. Last year's equivalent report came on 6 November 2025, and no date notice had been found as of 22 October 2026. The report sets revenue against the $170–171 million guide and adjusted EBITDA against $80.5–81.5 million. It also shows whether full-year revenue guidance of $671–681 million holds or rises.
What would change the view
Two results would break the recovery case. One is second-quarter revenue below the $170 million low end of guidance. The other is a cut to full-year revenue guidance below $671 million. Either would show that pharmaceutical ad budgets are still shrinking and that the August beat was a one-off. A further cut to full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance below $309 million would point the same way.
The price condition is a daily close below $29.50. That would give back the whole move since the first-quarter report.
Two results would justify a higher rating. One is revenue well above $171 million together with a raised full-year revenue outlook. The other is evidence that Doximity Ask, now carrying UpToDate content, is lifting spending by drug companies or health systems. Either would answer the growth concern behind the current read.
What it trades with
Doximity sits in the managed-care and health-services group with EVH, OPCH, AMN and MCK, but its revenue comes from drug-company marketing and health-system hiring budgets. Health care stocks set record highs on 20 October 2026 (Benzinga), and a sector-wide pullback would weigh on the shares. Even so, the stock-specific drivers are stronger. They are the pace of pharmaceutical ad spending and the debate over clinical AI tools, where Doximity Ask competes. The group's interest has cooled since the summer. That makes the coming report, rather than sector momentum, the deciding event for these shares.
Notes
- Doximity's fiscal year ends 31 March, so its fiscal 2027 quarters run from April 2026 to March 2027.
- Doximity has a dual-class share structure: Class B shares carry ten votes each and are concentrated with founder and CEO Jeff Tangney.
