Against its published line
Above its line on the last close.
How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 12 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $64, which would mean the October rebound after the 6 October 2026 Pantheon announcements has failed; separately, a full-year revenue guide raised above $1.144 billion with GTV growth re-accelerating above 17% at the December report would break the cautious read.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.
How picks are graded →The thesis
ServiceTitan is still growing revenue above 20% and widening its margins, but slowing transaction volume and a third-quarter revenue guide below the second quarter's actual leave the shares more likely to lag the S&P 500 than lead it over the next three months. The fiscal third-quarter report, expected around early December, settles whether the slowdown is temporary.
The company sells software that runs plumbing, heating, electrical and other home-trade contractors. For the quarter ended 31 July 2026, reported on 8 September 2026, revenue rose 21% to $292.8 million and free cash flow rose 47% to $50.5 million. Gross transaction volume (GTV), the dollar value of jobs processed through the platform, grew 17% to $26.8 billion. That growth rate is the part of the case that weakened.
The narrative is maturing: investors already know the AI-agent story, and the 6 October 2026 Pantheon 2026 announcements broadened it more than they introduced it. The shares closed at $72.59 on 9 October 2026, 34.2% below their 52-week high of $110.31 and 9.4% lower over three months.
Bullish and bearish views on ServiceTitan, Inc.
The bull case on ServiceTitan, Inc. (TTAN), in brief: Profitability is improving quickly. The bear case: Transaction volume growth slowed.
Bull case
- Profitability is improving quickly. Non-GAAP operating income was $44.4 million in the July quarter, a 15.2% margin against 12.1% a year earlier, according to the company's 8 September 2026 results.
- Usage revenue is outgrowing subscriptions. Usage revenue rose 24% to $72.1 million, driven by payments and the virtual-agent product. Subscription revenue grew 22% to $212.4 million (company results, 8 September 2026).
- The AI product is now widely available. On 6 October 2026 the company made its AI-powered Max package available to every residential in-home contractor and began Max pilots in commercial and roofing trades. It also launched the Atlas mobile app and Homh, a service that makes contractors bookable through ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude (GlobeNewswire release).
- Analysts still see room above the price. TD Cowen reiterated a Buy rating and a $100 target on 7 October 2026. BTIG reiterated Buy with a $110 target on 2 October 2026 (Benzinga).
Bear case
- Transaction volume growth slowed. GTV growth of 17% was about 200 basis points slower than in recent quarters, and the chief financial officer said on the 8 September 2026 call that he lacked clarity on what was driving consumer lead volume (TIKR summary of the call).
- The next quarter guides down sequentially. The fiscal third-quarter revenue guide of $285 million to $287 million sits below the $292.8 million reported for the second quarter. Non-GAAP operating income is guided to $29 million to $30 million, below the $44.4 million just reported.
- Expansion was paused to fund Max. The company paused its push into new commercial trades and residential exteriors to focus on Max, and TIKR cited a $4 million to $5 million near-term revenue headwind from timing and waived onboarding fees.
- Strong results did not hold the price. TIKR reported a 7.21% drop to $81.58 in the session after the 8 September 2026 report despite revenue and earnings beats. The 9 October 2026 close of $72.59 is still below that level.
Price setup
The 9 October 2026 close of $72.59 is 34.2% below the 52-week high of $110.31 and 9.4% lower than three months earlier, based on adjusted daily closes. The 14-day relative strength index (RSI), a momentum gauge where readings above 70 usually mean a short-term overbought stock, stood at 75.6 on 9 October 2026. That reading reflects a sharp rebound into the Pantheon week rather than a reversal of the longer decline.
Crowding signs are visible but moderate. ServiceTitan was named among CNBC Halftime Report "Final Trades" on 7 October 2026, and Benzinga covered it again on 8 October 2026. Those mentions coincided with an overbought RSI. The next earnings report is about eight weeks away, so no scheduled report sits close to the current price move.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- No scheduled company event is confirmed between 11 October 2026 and 10 November 2026. The next dated datapoint is the close of the fiscal third quarter on 31 October 2026.
- ~3 December 2026 (est.): fiscal third-quarter report. It falls outside the 30-day window but inside the three-month horizon. It shows whether revenue lands within the $285 million to $287 million guide, whether GTV growth holds near 17% or slows further, and how many locations have enrolled in Max against the company's target of more than 700 by fiscal year-end.
What would change the view
The bearish lean breaks if third-quarter results show GTV growth re-accelerating above the 17% posted for the July quarter, with revenue clearly above the $287 million top of the guide and the full-year range of $1.139 billion to $1.144 billion raised. Max enrollment clearly ahead of the 700-location target would also strengthen the bull case, because the company paused other expansion to fund it.
The case for further weakness would firm up if the shares give back the October rebound and close below $64. A cut to the full-year revenue guide or further GTV deceleration at the December report would do the same.
What it trades with
The shares trade with application-software names whose multiples have compressed on fears that AI agents replace software seats, alongside theme peers Shopify (SHOP) and PTC. The AI-enterprise-software group moved back to an accelerating reading in the week of 11 October 2026 after five straight weeks of saturation. A sustained turn in that group would support the shares, and a renewed software sell-off would weigh on them regardless of company results.
ServiceTitan also carries exposure to US home-services demand. Its GTV tracks contractor job volume, so weaker household spending on repairs and replacements shows up in usage revenue before it reaches subscriptions.
Notes
- ServiceTitan's fiscal year ends 31 January, so fiscal 2027 runs from February 2026 to January 2027 and the fiscal third quarter ends 31 October 2026.
- Gross transaction volume measures contractor job dollars processed through the platform; it drives usage revenue and reflects US home-services demand.
