Against its published line

Above its line on the last close.

How to read this

The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 20 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.

Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.

Kill line

A weekly close below $7.71, the 29 September 2026 close, which would erase the gain since coverage began. A cut to the $400–410 million 2026 revenue guidance or a third-quarter GAAP gross margin below 46% would also break the case.

Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

The thesis

Riskified's revenue growth re-accelerated to 22% in the June quarter and management raised its 2026 outlook, but at the 14 October 2026 close of $8.09 the shares trade above the $7.65 analyst consensus target listed by StockAnalysis. The third-quarter report, expected around 11 November 2026, settles whether gross profit starts to keep pace with revenue and whether the raised guidance holds.

The narrative is maturing: the re-acceleration story is well known, and the news since the last note is incremental. Goldman Sachs raised its target on 13 October 2026 but kept a Sell rating, and the 8 October 2026 product launch reaches merchants only in a December beta. The momentum has also cooled: the 14-day relative strength index (RSI) fell to 54.8 on 14 October 2026 from 84.8 on 1 October 2026.

Bullish and bearish views on Riskified Ltd.

The bull case on Riskified Ltd. (RSKD), in brief: Revenue growth tripled in one quarter. The bear case: Gross profit lags revenue.

Bull case

  • Revenue growth tripled in one quarter. Riskified reported second-quarter revenue of $98.7 million on 12 August 2026, up 22% year over year; first-quarter growth was 7%. Form 6-K exhibit
  • Full-year outlook raised again. On 12 August 2026 management lifted 2026 revenue guidance to $400–410 million from $376–384 million. It lifted adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) guidance to $33–39 million from $28–34 million.
  • Even the bear has moved up. Goldman Sachs analyst Will Nance raised the target to $7.50 from $5.50 on 13 October 2026, keeping a Sell rating ahead of third-quarter payments earnings, according to Benzinga and StockAnalysis. Truist's $9 target from 28 September 2026 remains the highest cited, with Truist saying the story "still flies under the radar".
  • A new product for AI shopping assistants. On 8 October 2026 Riskified announced Agent Identity Risk Intelligence, which identifies the AI personal assistant behind an order or service request and returns a risk signal. A limited enterprise beta opens in December 2026, with general availability expected in 2027. Finviz
  • Buybacks are shrinking the share count. The company repurchased about 13.7 million shares for $63.9 million in the second quarter and reports a 26% cumulative share reduction since the program began. It held $223.6 million in cash, deposits and investments with no debt on 30 June 2026.

Bear case

  • Gross profit lags revenue. In the quarter to 30 June 2026, gross profit grew 13% against 22% revenue growth. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) gross margin fell to 46% from 49% a year earlier, and gross merchandise volume screened grew 13% to $41.3 billion.
  • Still loss-making under GAAP. The second-quarter net loss was $9.1 million and adjusted EBITDA was $3.9 million, a 4% margin. The full-year EBITDA guidance of $33–39 million needs a much stronger second half.
  • The price is ahead of most targets. The $7.65 consensus target listed by StockAnalysis on 15 October 2026 sits below the $8.09 close. Goldman's raised target of $7.50 is also below it, and DA Davidson's $7.50 target was reported by Investing.com on 28 September 2026.
  • The new product earns nothing this year. Agent Identity Risk Intelligence enters a limited beta in December 2026, so it cannot affect third- or fourth-quarter revenue.

Price setup

The shares closed at $8.09 on 14 October 2026 in split- and dividend-adjusted daily closes. That is 5.6% below the 52-week high of $8.57 and above the 29 September 2026 close of $7.71 that anchored the prior note. The three-month gain is 54.7%.

The RSI reading of 54.8 shows the overbought condition of early October has worked off through a pullback from the high rather than a collapse. Crowding is moderate: the shares trade above the consensus target, and an earnings report falls within the next 30 days. No insider sales or share issuance appear in recent SEC filings.

Catalysts, next 30 days

  • ~11 November 2026, est.: third-quarter 2026 results. StockAnalysis lists the date; the company has not confirmed it. The report shows whether revenue growth stays above 20%, whether GAAP gross margin holds at or above 46%, and whether the $400–410 million revenue guidance stands.
  • December 2026: Agent Identity Risk Intelligence beta. This falls outside the 30-day window. It matters only as a sign of merchant uptake for 2027.

What would change the view

The case breaks if the third-quarter report shows revenue growth falling back toward the first quarter's 7%, a cut to the $400–410 million 2026 revenue guidance, or GAAP gross margin below 46%. On price, a weekly close below $7.71, the 29 September 2026 close, would erase the gain since coverage began.

The rating would rise if third-quarter gross profit growth closes most of the gap with revenue growth and guidance is raised again. A clean report would also test whether analysts lift the $7.65 consensus target above the share price.

What it trades with

Riskified's revenue depends on the volume of online orders it screens, so it tracks consumer e-commerce spending and holiday-season retail volumes. Goldman grouped it with payments stocks heading into third-quarter earnings on 13 October 2026, and sector read-through from payment processors reporting first can move the shares before 11 November 2026. As a small-cap company with a 54.7% three-month gain, it is also exposed to swings in risk appetite for small growth stocks.

Notes

  • Riskified has a dual-class share structure: 91.8 million Class A and 40.2 million Class B shares were outstanding on 30 June 2026.
  • Riskified is a foreign private issuer and files quarterly results on Form 6-K rather than Form 10-Q.
