Kill line
A weekly close below $12.46, the 25 September 2026 close that marked the post-earnings low. A fiscal third-quarter ARR figure below UiPath's $1.992–1.997 billion outlook would separately undermine the commercial premise.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

How picks are graded →The thesis
UiPath's shift from robotic-process automation to AI agent orchestration is still unproven in company-wide growth, and the rating stays low. The fiscal third-quarter annual recurring revenue (ARR) figure for 31 October 2026, reported in early December, settles it, with a weekly close above $15 as the price confirmation.
The shares closed at $13.94 on 22 October 2026, according to adjusted daily closes. That is up from $13.48 on 9 October 2026 and from $12.46 on 25 September 2026, and the shares rose 20.0% over three months. No company results, guidance or filings have appeared since the prior note, so the move changes the price picture and leaves the business evidence where it was.
The narrative is maturing: the story is well known, the 22 September 2026 Investor Day produced no new financial targets according to Truist, and interest has settled into waiting for the next quarterly report.
Bullish and bearish views on UiPath, Inc.
The bull case on UiPath, Inc. (PATH), in brief: Recurring revenue kept expanding. The bear case: Analysts turned more negative.
Bull case
- Recurring revenue kept expanding. UiPath reported ARR of $1.938 billion at 31 July 2026, up 12% year over year, with $37 million of net new ARR and 109% dollar-based net retention (fiscal second-quarter results, 3 September 2026).
- Profitable while pivoting. The quarter ended 31 July 2026 produced $410 million of revenue, up 13%, and $32 million of operating income under generally accepted accounting principles. The company raised its fiscal 2027 outlook in the same report.
- AI revenue has a number. RBC Capital reported on 23 September 2026 that UiPath's AI ARR reached $250 million in the fiscal second quarter, giving the agent story a measurable line item.
- Partnerships keep arriving. On 30 September 2026 UiPath announced an expanded Snowflake partnership with two-way data integration and a partnership with BDO for agentic AI solutions.
- Shares have recovered from the low. The $13.94 close on 22 October 2026 sits above the $12.46 close of 25 September 2026, and the 14-day relative strength index (RSI) rose to 61.5 from 48.3 on 9 October 2026.
Bear case
- Analysts turned more negative. DA Davidson moved to Underperform with a $10 target on 28 September 2026. Truist cut its target to $14 from $17 on 23 September 2026. Canaccord Genuity downgraded UiPath to Hold on 4 September 2026.
- AI pricing faces pushback. DA Davidson's survey of six industry partners and five enterprise customers found some considered the Maestro orchestration product expensive or hard to understand, and questioned paying UiPath to orchestrate AI that model providers can deliver directly.
- Net new ARR slowed. UiPath reported $37 million for the quarter ended 31 July 2026, against $49 million in the quarter reported on 28 May 2026. DA Davidson questioned the fourth-quarter outlook of $73 million, a 28% increase from last year.
- The Investor Day lacked new targets. Truist said management gave no new specific financial targets on 22 September 2026, and the $250 million AI ARR figure does not show how much of that spending is new to UiPath.
- The post-earnings drop is not recovered. Benzinga reported the shares fell 12.4% on 4 September 2026 after the second-quarter report despite a revenue beat and a raised outlook. The $13.94 close on 22 October 2026 remains 27.7% below the 52-week high of $19.29.
Price setup
The adjusted close was $13.94 on 22 October 2026, 27.7% below the 52-week high of $19.29. The RSI of 61.5 is higher than the neutral 48.3 of 9 October 2026 but not stretched.
The $15 level named in earlier coverage sits above the last close and has not been tested by a weekly close. The 25 September 2026 close of $12.46 is the downside level that ended the earlier recovery case.
Analyst targets bracket the price. After the 4 September 2026 report, BMO Capital set $18, RBC Capital and Canaccord Genuity $17, TD Cowen $16, B of A Securities and Wells Fargo $15, and Mizuho $14. Truist later cut to $14 and DA Davidson to $10.
Crowding evidence is limited. No insider transactions or share issuance appear in recent filings, and the next earnings date is about six weeks away.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- ~3 December 2026, est.: Fiscal third-quarter results, outside the 30-day window. The date is an aggregator estimate and UiPath has not confirmed it. The case turns on this report, so it is listed here.
Elapsed catalysts
- 31 October 2026: UiPath's fiscal third quarter ends. The ARR outlook of $1.992–1.997 billion applies to this date, but the figure is not published until the results report. (passed 6d ago)
What would change the view
The case for a recovery breaks if fiscal third-quarter ARR lands below the $1.992–1.997 billion outlook, or if net new ARR falls short of the $37 million of the second quarter. Either result would indicate agent orchestration is not yet lifting company-wide growth.
On price, a weekly close below $12.46 would erase the rebound from the 25 September 2026 low. The evidence would turn constructive on an ARR figure inside or above the outlook, with a rising AI ARR figure beyond $250 million, and a weekly close above $15.
What it trades with
UiPath trades with enterprise software shares exposed to artificial intelligence spending, and its 4 September 2026 reaction showed that a revenue beat and raised outlook did not hold the price against cautious analyst reaction. Its Snowflake partnership ties part of the story to data-platform demand. Model providers that sell agent tools directly are the competitive reference point DA Davidson raised on 28 September 2026.
