Against its published line
The red mark is the published kill line. The dot is where the name closed on 24 August 2026. Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so the first two points of cushion take half the track and a name sitting on its line is legible; past 8% a name reads simply as well clear. A trigger written on weekly closes is graded on weekly closes, so a name trading through such a line mid-week reads as pending, not hit.
Current thesis
Funded wait on one unsigned ENTRA1–TVA power purchase agreement, with the company silent for twenty days since the 2026-08-05 Q2 release. The 2026-08-24 close of $9.05 gave back most of the bounce off the 2026-08-18 floor at $8.64 and RSI(14) slipped to 45.8; the only dated item inside a week — 2026-08-27 — belongs to a rival design's licence docket at NuScale's own prospective customer.
Kill line
A daily close below $8.64 (the 2026-08-18 range floor) re-opens the 2026-07-20 close of $7.96 and the 2026-07-17 low of $7.21; secondary: 2026-08-27 passing with the Clinch River comment record closed, no NuScale site named at TVA, and still no company release after 2026-08-05.

SMR — NuScale Power Corporation
Current Thesis
The company leg has produced no new dated fact since the second-quarter release. NuScale's press-release page, checked 2026-08-25, still ends at the 2026-08-05 Q2 results item — twenty calendar days with nothing company-originated on the tape. The asset being underwritten remains one unsigned document: a definitive power purchase agreement between ENTRA1 Energy and the Tennessee Valley Authority that would convert the 2025-09-03 collaborative agreement (six plants, roughly 6 GW, up to 72 NuScale modules across TVA's seven-state region) into a contract. On the 2026-08-05 call CEO John Hopkins put the potential scale at 6–8 GW; no site, megawatt allocation or signature date has been named.
Since the last reading the tape has given back most of the bounce. The 2026-08-21 close of $9.40 became a 2026-08-24 close of $9.05, and RSI(14) fell from 53.6 to 45.8 across that single session. The shares sit 83.1% below the 52-week high of $53.43, with a three-month price change of −25.9%.
The narrative is dead for the company leg, unchanged and now carrying twenty days of silence. What dates that label: Q2 revenue of $75,000 against an $8.910M consensus with EPS of $(0.13) (2026-08-05); five sell-side target cuts in fifteen sessions with no raises — Citigroup to $6.50 with Sell and Canaccord Genuity to $15 with Buy on 2026-08-06, RBC Capital to $10 with Sector Perform on 2026-08-11, B. Riley to $15 with Buy on 2026-08-14, Texas Capital initiating at $12 with Buy in coverage dated 2026-08-20/21; a fresh at-the-market authorisation of up to $750M disclosed 2026-08-11; and a director selling at the range floor on 2026-08-18. The sector leg is a separate organism and still moves this equity on Oklo, Constellation and AI-power headlines.
Bullish and bearish views on NuScale Power Corporation
The model's bull view on NuScale Power Corporation (SMR), in brief: Roughly $1.9B of cash and investments at 2026-06-30. The bear view: Revenue is not a business yet. $75,000 in Q2 against an $8.910M consensus (2026-08-05) is a project-milestone artifact; the number carries no run-rate information and the market treated it as a miss the same session. Issuance follows the story. The 2026-08-11 disclosure of up to… Both cases follow in full.
Bull Case
- Roughly $1.9B of cash and investments at 2026-06-30. $766.46M cash and equivalents, $305.69M short-term investments, $820.85M long-term investments (Q2 FY2026 10-Q, filed 2026-08-05), against six-month operating cash use of $372.86M. Nothing dated inside the next thirty days requires drawing on the new authorisation.
- The completed 2026 equity program cleared far above the current tape. 86,568,060 Class A shares sold in Q2 at an average $11.11 — $962.068M gross, $947.214M net — finishing the $1.0B authorisation in June 2026. That clearing price is 22.8% above the 2026-08-24 close of $9.05.
- No ENTRA1 milestone liability sits on the balance sheet. The Q2 10-Q states the criteria to record a Milestone Contribution liability were not met as of 2026-06-30, after $247.5M in 2025 and $259.9M in Q1 2026 were paid against Contribution 1.
- The stated TVA opportunity got larger, not smaller, at the print. Management moved the framing from the September 2025 6 GW figure to 6–8 GW on the 2026-08-05 call, while keeping the agreement pre-definitive.
- Sell-side dispersion has not compressed toward the tape. Standing targets run from Citigroup's $6.50 (Sell, 2026-08-06) to the $15 marks at Canaccord and B. Riley — roughly 2.3x low to high against the 2026-08-24 close.
Bear Case
- Revenue is not a business yet. $75,000 in Q2 against an $8.910M consensus (2026-08-05) is a project-milestone artifact; the number carries no run-rate information and the market treated it as a miss the same session.
- Issuance follows the story. The 2026-08-11 disclosure of up to $750M of Class A stock under an at-the-market agreement arrived six days after the print, with Class A outstanding already at 410.4M versus 318.5M at 2025-12-31. Sales occur at company discretion and are disclosed in arrears.
- Insiders sold into the range in August. Director Shinji Fujino disposed of 20,000 Class A shares on 2026-08-18 at a weighted average $8.858 (prints $8.85–$8.865), leaving 17,242 held directly (Form 4 filed 2026-08-20), alongside reported August dispositions by the CFO and COO.
- A rival design is ahead on the regulatory clock at NuScale's flagship prospective customer. The NRC's uncontested mandatory hearing on TVA's Clinch River Unit 1 — GE Vernova Hitachi's BWRX-300, 300 MWe / 870 MWt, docket NRC-2024-0146 — convened 2026-08-13 in Oak Ridge, with staff having recommended the construction permit in a June 2026 safety evaluation report (ADAMS ML26168A505).
- Commercial news reaches the tape through counterparties. The 2026-08-06 Curio/Framatome fuel MOU naming NuScale was announced by Curio; RoPower/Doicesti datapoints have arrived through Nuclearelectrica filings all year.
- Litigation overhang. Truedson v. NuScale Power Corporation, D. Or. 3:26-cv-00328, covers a class period of 2025-05-13 to 2025-11-06 and remains pending.
Setup & Price Structure
The two-week band running into 2026-08-24 is $8.64–$9.89. The 2026-08-18 close of $8.64 is the floor; the 2026-08-24 close of $9.05 sits 4.7% above it, in the lower half of the range. Below that floor the nearest reference points are the 2026-07-20 close of $7.96 and the 2026-07-17 low of $7.21.
Momentum is neutral-to-soft: RSI(14) at 45.8 on 2026-08-24, down from 53.6 three sessions earlier. There is no base to speak of — the structure since the 2026-08-05 print is a drift inside a five-week downtrend that has not produced a higher weekly close.
Crowding and positioning observables, stated as observables: short interest was last reported at 70.48M shares, 20.77% of float; the company has an open authorisation to sell up to $750M of stock at its discretion (disclosed 2026-08-11); three insiders reported August dispositions, the most recent a director at a weighted average $8.858 on 2026-08-18; and retail-facing coverage on 2026-08-24 framed the session as target cuts plus deployment-risk concern rather than any company event. There is no earnings date inside the next thirty days — the Q2 print is behind, and the next scheduled company disclosure is the Q3 10-Q in November.
Catalyst Calendar (next 30 days)
- ~2026-08-26 (est.) — Mid-August short-interest report covering the 2026-08-14 settlement date. Tests whether the short side built past 70.48M shares and 20.77% of float or covered through the advance off the 2026-07-20 close of $7.96.
- 2026-08-27 — Written-comment deadline on the Clinch River Unit 1 hearing record, docket NRC-2024-0146. Closes the docket ahead of a Commission decision on the BWRX-300 construction permit.
- 2026-08-29 — First quarterly vest tranche of the 2026-05-29 director RSU grants. Opens the next Form 4 window after an August that already produced three reported dispositions.
- ~2026-08-31 (est.) — Nuclearelectrica (SNN) H1 2026 reporting. SNN filings have carried every RoPower/Doicesti datapoint this year; signed external financing or a pre-EPC contract would surface there first.
- ~2026-09-10 (est.) — End-August short-interest report. First positioning reading spanning the 2026-08-11 at-the-market disclosure and the $8.64–$9.89 band.
What Would Change Our Mind
The structure that matters is the 2026-08-18 floor. Losing it on a daily close below $8.64 ends the argument that the post-print drift is a range rather than a continuation, and re-opens the 2026-07-20 close of $7.96 and the 2026-07-17 low of $7.21. A secondary condition compounds it: 2026-08-27 passing with the Clinch River comment record closed, no NuScale site named at TVA, and still nothing on the company's press-release page after 2026-08-05.
The other direction is equally specific and would require the company leg to restart. A signed ENTRA1–TVA definitive power purchase agreement with a named site and megawatt allocation would re-date the narrative from dead; so would a Q3 10-Q showing no shares sold under the $750M authorisation, or an SNN H1 report disclosing signed external RoPower financing. Absent one of those, the sell-side clustering at $10–$15 against a $6.50 low is disagreement about a contract nobody has seen, and the tape is pricing the delay.
Correlation Notes
- SMR trades with the listed nuclear-and-AI-power complex rather than on its own disclosures. On 2026-08-18 it closed $8.64 alongside declines in Oklo and Constellation Energy on an AI revenue datapoint and a 19-year high in the 30-year Treasury.
- Oklo's 2026-08-06 first criticality at its Groves isotope test reactor is a competing-narrative event: it supplies the sector with a hardware milestone NuScale has not matched commercially, and sector flows have rewarded demonstrated hardware over licence-stage optionality this year.
- The Clinch River docket links SMR to a competitor's schedule at its own prospective customer. A BWRX-300 construction permit is a positive for the SMR theme in aggregate and a negative for NuScale's share of TVA's first tranche.
- Up-C structure: Class A pairs with NuScale LLC units held as Class B, so Class A share-count growth overstates economic dilution relative to new issuance alone.
Notes

- 2026-06-04: NEW live catalyst — South Korea $200B US-investment package eyeing NuScale Tennessee/TVA SMR program; Doosan Enerbility + Samsung C&T in talks (KED Global 2026-05-13, Motley Fool 2026-05-31). UNDATED/unsigned — watch KED/Reuters for a named $ allocation.
- 2026-06-06: SMR closed $10.50 on 2026-06-05 (−12.50%) on 45.2M shares (~45% above 31.2M 3-mo avg) — June 1–2 pop to ~$14 fully round-tripped; now pressing the $8.85 52-wk low. Sell-the-rip regime intact.
- 2026-07-04: SMR ~$9.83 (7/2 close, range $9.60-$10.87), down on cash-burn/commercialization-timeline questions; ~11% above the $8.85 52-wk low, ~83% below the $57.42 52-wk high. Sell-the-rip regime intact since April.
- Up-C structure: Class A pairs with NuScale LLC units held as Class B, so Class A share-count growth overstates economic dilution versus new issuance.
- The at-the-market program of up to $750M disclosed 2026-08-11 sells at company discretion and is disclosed in arrears in quarterly filings.
- ENTRA1 holds the commercialization rights; NuScale owes Milestone Contributions on binding agreements, so a contract win also carries a cash obligation.
- Securities fraud class action pending: Truedson v. NuScale Power Corporation, D. Or. 3:26-cv-00328, class period 2025-05-13 to 2025-11-06.
- RoPower/Doicesti datapoints originate in Nuclearelectrica (SNN) filings in Romania; NuScale's own releases have lagged them throughout 2026.
- Revenue is project-milestone driven and lumpy; single-quarter swings reflect contract timing and completion, not an underlying demand run-rate.

Mine-to-magnet milestone cadence still driving the tape, but paying less each time: the 2026-08-19 terbium qualification bought one session (08-21 close $15.14, +8.92%) then faded to $14.88 on 08-24, back under the 08-14 shelf of $15.10. ASM implementation 2026-08-28 is the last dated corporate step; rare earths were ~$0.1M of $25.108M Q2 revenue and White Mesa's uranium circuit stays paused into Q4-2026.
CCJ
Cameco Corporation
Nuclear-uranium theme maturing and CCJ's structure has broken twice into improving news: mkt cap $44.79B (06-29) → ~$39.9B (07-25), ~$88, ~35% off the $135.24 high, absorbing a $17.5B federal AP1000 program and NJ's $24B plan. Barclays cut to Equal-Weight, PT $104 (07-16). Q2 print 2026-07-31 (EPS est $0.26, −49% YoY) is the binary; no setup until a higher-low reclaim of ~$104.
CEG
Constellation Energy Corporation
Post-print reclaim still failing: $282.50 (2026-08-14) is the only close above the broken $281 shelf, and 08-24 printed $273.43 thirteen sessions after the beat-and-raise. Seven sell-side cuts since 07-27 against one raise, PJM's 2028/29 capacity auction capped at $325/MW-day, and the ~2026-09-12 EO 62 working-group deadline is the next dated resolution.
NNE
Nano Nuclear Energy Inc.
Nuclear-microreactor narrative has stopped converting news into demand: a Truist Hold/$22 initiation (7/14) and a Virginia consortium announcement (7/17) landed inside four sessions and NNE still printed a fresh 52-week low at $15.78 (7/16), losing the prior $18.04 floor. Broken structure, $400M ATM armed against a ~$844M cap, first KRONOS revenue ~FY2030. The setup does not clear until a base forms above $22.
