How to read this

The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 14 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.

Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.

Kill line

A daily close below $17.00, which would extend the decline well under the 14 October 2026 close of $19.58. Third-quarter 2026 revenue below the second quarter's $520.8 million would also break the operating case.

Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

The thesis

National Energy Services Reunited (NESR), a Middle East and North Africa oilfield-services company, closed at $21.16 on 27 October 2026, still below the $22.50 level the 2 October 2026 note treated as its break point. The business results (second-quarter revenue of $520.8 million, Kuwait contracts) have not changed, and the third-quarter report, expected around 12 November 2026, settles whether the shares recover.

The narrative is maturing: the growth story was widely known after the 10 August 2026 results, and analysts have started trimming targets, with Barclays lowering its target to $41 on 15 October 2026. The shares are 41.7% below their $36.31 52-week high, and the three-month price change is -20.0% (adjusted daily closes). The shares closed at $19.58 on 14 October 2026 and have since recovered 8.1% to $21.16.

The rating stays low. No company result has appeared since 10 August 2026, and the rebound from the 14 October 2026 close has not yet regained the $22.50 level.

Bullish and bearish views on National Energy Services Reunited Corp

The bull case on National Energy Services Reunited Corp (NESR), in brief: Reported growth is large. The bear case: The price is still below the prior break level.

Bull case

  • Reported growth is large. The 10 August 2026 release showed second-quarter revenue of $520.8 million, up 59.1% year over year, with adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $106.2 million. Benzinga recorded sales against a $446.971 million estimate.
  • Kuwait awards add visibility. On 5 August 2026 the company announced Kuwait services and technology contracts totalling $300 million over five years. Revenue timing depends on execution.
  • Cash generation and leverage improved. Second-quarter operating cash flow was $174.0 million, and net debt was $99.6 million at 30 June 2026, against $185.3 million at 31 December 2025.
  • Analyst targets sit far above the price. UBS kept a Buy with a $46 target on 29 September 2026. Piper Sandler kept Overweight with a $39 target on 2 October 2026. Barclays kept Overweight on 15 October 2026 with a $41 target. All sit well above the $21.16 close of 27 October 2026.
  • New Aramco project. On 8 October 2026 NESR said its environmental and decarbonization unit will execute Saudi Arabia's first direct lithium extraction demonstration project for Aramco, planned for 2027. No revenue figure was disclosed.

Bear case

  • The price is still below the prior break level. The close of $24.93 on 1 October 2026 fell to $19.58 on 14 October 2026, and the close of $21.16 on 27 October 2026 remains under $22.50. The 14-day relative strength index (RSI), a momentum gauge, was 39.8, so selling pressure has eased without turning to buying strength.
  • Analyst targets are moving down. Piper Sandler lowered its target to $39 on 2 October 2026. Barclays cut from $45 (set 11 August 2026) to $41 on 15 October 2026.
  • The revenue bar is lower than the second quarter. One earnings calendar lists analysts expecting about $503.0 million of third-quarter revenue, below the $520.8 million reported for the second quarter. A report in line with that estimate would still fall short of the second-quarter figure.
  • Insiders have been sellers. GuruFocus reported on 30 September 2026 that insiders sold $142.0 million of shares over 12 months with no purchases. The chief executive's Form 4 showed a sale of 100,000 shares at $35.00 on 31 August 2026.
  • Valuation is contested. GuruFocus put its own intrinsic-value estimate at $12.88 on 30 September 2026, with a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 29.11 against a five-year median of 27.94.
  • Revenue is concentrated in one region. Nearly all sales go to national oil companies in the Middle East and North Africa, so payment cycles and policy changes in one country reach the whole business.

Price setup

NESR closed at $21.16 on 27 October 2026 (adjusted daily closes). The 52-week high is $36.31, and the shares sit 41.7% below it. The 14 October 2026 close of $19.58 is the recent low in this series.

The $22.50 level, the prior break point, is about 6.3% above the latest close. A daily close above it would retrace the break. The invalidation level of $17.00 is 19.7% below the latest close.

The company is also changing external auditors from Grant Thornton to PwC.

Crowding evidence: the 12-month insider selling of $142.0 million is the main sign of supply into strength, since the CEO sold at $35.00 on 31 August 2026, near the high. The earnings date is within about three weeks. Retail attention is not measured here, and the move since August has been a decline, not a rise above a rising moving average.

Catalysts, next 30 days

  • ~12 November 2026, est.: third-quarter 2026 results. The company had not confirmed a date as of 28 October 2026. Last year's third-quarter report was announced on 6 November 2025 for release on 13 November 2025, and Unusual Whales lists 12 November 2026. The report shows whether revenue holds near the $520.8 million second-quarter level and whether operating cash flow stays positive as receivables grow.

Elapsed catalysts

  • Through the period: analyst target revisions. Barclays and Piper Sandler have lowered targets since 2 October 2026. Further changes after the report would show whether the cuts are spreading. (passed 35d ago)

What would change the view

The operating case breaks if third-quarter 2026 revenue comes in below the second quarter's $520.8 million, or if operating cash flow turns negative as customer receivables build. Either would suggest the second-quarter step-up was temporary.

The price case breaks on a daily close below $17.00, which would be 19.7% under the 27 October 2026 close and well below the 14 October 2026 low of $19.58. The case would strengthen if the third-quarter report confirms revenue at or above $520.8 million with cash flow intact, and the shares close above $22.50.

What it trades with

NESR trades with Middle East oilfield-services names and with crude oil prices. TipRanks tied the late-September decline to a broad oilfield-services selloff on softer crude and Treasury yields at multi-decade highs.

Notes

  • Ordinary shares from a 2018 SPAC combination with NPS Holdings and Gulf Energy SAOC;
  • The external auditor is changing from Grant Thornton to PwC, so the next annual audit runs under a new firm.
  • Essentially all revenue is earned in the Middle East and North Africa and billed to national oil companies, so receivable cycles and single-country policy shifts affect the whole business at once.
