How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 21 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $5.00, a round level under the 21 October 2026 close of $5.89 and well under the 4 September 2026 range low. A quarterly filing with no binding acquisition and cash below $106.1 million would also break the case.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

How picks are graded →The thesis
Twenty One Capital, a bitcoin treasury company, has fallen back below its five-week trading range with no signed, cash-generating acquisition announced, and the quarterly filing estimated for ~11 November 2026 is the next scheduled test of its operating-business plan. The case stays weak until a binding deal with disclosed cash flow appears.
The adjusted daily close was $5.89 on 21 October 2026, below the $6.10 close of 4 September 2026 that marked the low of the range. It was $6.32 on 8 October 2026. The three-month price change is 30.3%, measured from the July low, and the 14-day relative strength index is 31.0, a weak reading. The shares are 71.4% below the 52-week high of $20.57.
The narrative is maturing: the strategy was set out in the 11 August 2026 shareholder letter, and company news since then, including CEO Raphael Zagury's 28 September 2026 conference slot, has produced no signed agreement. A search of company announcements through 22 October 2026 found no new acquisition, financing or holdings update.
Bullish and bearish views on Twenty One Capital, Inc.
The bull case on Twenty One Capital, Inc. (XXI), in brief: A large bitcoin treasury remains. The bear case: No operating business has been signed.
Bull case
- A large bitcoin treasury remains. BitcoinTreasuries.net recorded 43,514 bitcoin for the company on 7 September 2026 and ranked it as the second-largest corporate holder. The market value of the equity was 0.60x the value of the bitcoin on basic shares at that date.
- The shares are well above the July low. The three-month gain is 30.3% as of the 21 October 2026 close. The recovery from the post-leadership-change low has not been fully reversed.
- Management has a stated plan. The 11 August 2026 shareholder letter proposed acquiring operating businesses and building a bitcoin-backed lending business. A signed deal with disclosed cash flow would turn the plan into a result.
- Tether controls the register. Tether acquired SoftBank's 89,106,748 Class A shares on 19 May 2026. A controlling holder with a bitcoin-linked business is a possible source of deal flow, although no transaction has been announced.
Bear case
- No operating business has been signed. The Strike combination ended with the 21 July 2026 leadership change. The company described a possible Elektron Energy acquisition, a business Zagury founded and leads, as preliminary and under evaluation. Any such deal would be a related-person transaction subject to board review.
- The discount depends on the share count. BitcoinTreasuries.net showed 0.60x on basic shares and 1.12x on diluted shares on 7 September 2026. On the diluted count, the equity traded above the value of its bitcoin.
- Losses and liabilities are large. The Block reported a $414 million second-quarter loss on 11 August 2026. The quarterly report showed $106.1 million in cash and $484.5 million in convertible notes at 30 June 2026.
- Resale registration adds supply. A Form S-1 filed 9 February 2026 registered resale of $486.5 million of 1.00% convertible notes due 2030 and 35,068,912 underlying Class A shares.
- The price has broken its recent range. The 21 October 2026 close of $5.89 is under the $6.10 close of 4 September 2026, which ends the five-week hold between roughly $6 and $7.
Price setup
The adjusted daily close was $5.89 on 21 October 2026, after $6.32 on 8 October 2026 and $6.10 on 4 September 2026. The shares closed under the low of the range for the first time since early September. The 14-day relative strength index of 31.0 sits close to the 30 level that is conventionally read as oversold.
The 52-week high is $20.57 on the adjusted series. The July low from the leadership change is the next lower reference. The $6.10 close of 4 September 2026 is now overhead resistance rather than support.
Crowding evidence is limited. Company filings show no insider sales or new share issuance since the 9 September 2026 board appointment. The earnings date is the main event risk.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- ~11 November 2026, est.: September-quarter results and quarterly filing. The filing would show cash, convertible notes, the diluted share count, any bitcoin purchases or sales, and the terms of any acquisition. The date is an estimate; the company had not confirmed it as of 22 October 2026.
- Any time: a signed acquisition or lending launch. Company news would be the first source. The Elektron Energy review is the only named candidate.
What would change the view
The case breaks if the shares close below the invalidation level of $5.00, or if the September-quarter filing shows no binding acquisition and cash below the $106.1 million reported at 30 June 2026. The prior level of $6.10 has already been crossed on a close, so the earlier recovery reading no longer holds.
The case improves if the company announces a signed transaction with disclosed cash flow, or if the diluted-share valuation falls back below 1.0x of bitcoin value in a later BitcoinTreasuries.net reading.
What it trades with
The shares trade with the price of bitcoin and with other bitcoin treasury companies. A 13 October 2026 headline reported that Strive made a $280 million bitcoin purchase, which shows peers are still adding while this company has announced no purchase. Tether's control and the Elektron review make the stock more sensitive to company-specific governance news than most peers.
Notes
- Tether acquired SoftBank's 89,106,748 Class A shares on 19 May 2026 and holds control; minority holders have limited governance influence.
- A Form S-1 filed 9 February 2026 registered resale of $486.5 million of 1.00% convertible notes due 2030 and 35,068,912 underlying Class A shares.
- A possible Elektron Energy acquisition would be a related-person transaction, because CEO Raphael Zagury founded and leads that company.
