Kill line

A daily close below $5.90, the invalidation level in the previous note and well under the 28 October 2026 close. Total annual recurring revenue at or below $440.8 million in the Q3 FY2027 report would also fail the test.

Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

The thesis

Yext's margin recovery still depends on its AI products restarting recurring-revenue growth, and the Q3 fiscal 2027 report must show total annual recurring revenue (ARR) above the $440.8 million reported on 1 September 2026. The shares closed at $7.33 on 28 October 2026 (adjusted daily closes), up from $7.13 on 15 October 2026, and Yext has published no new revenue or ARR figure since the 1 September 2026 results.

The narrative is maturing: the product story has been public since the 1 September 2026 launches and the 30 September 2026 Envision conference, and the latest company items are the Flamel.ai agreement (30 September 2026) and the Deliverect data partnership (8 October 2026), neither with financial terms. The shares gained 34.2% over three months and sit 17.4% below the 52-week high of $8.87. The 14-day relative strength index (RSI, a 0–100 momentum gauge) reads 66.0, down from 78.4 on 15 October 2026, so the momentum reading has cooled while the price held higher.

A daily close below $5.90 would end the case first. Total ARR at or below $440.8 million in the Q3 FY2027 report would end it on the business result.

Bullish and bearish views on Yext, Inc.

The bull case on Yext, Inc. (YEXT), in brief: Profitability is already delivered. The bear case: Revenue is still shrinking.

Bull case

  • Profitability is already delivered. Yext reported adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $34.0 million and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.21 for the quarter ended 31 July 2026 (Q2 FY2027 results, 1 September 2026).
  • Enterprise customers are stabilising. Enterprise ARR was $405.9 million against $399.3 million a year earlier, and enterprise net retention was 98% against 96% (same release). Management said, as reported by Pulse 2, that it expects the enterprise growth momentum to carry into the third quarter.
  • Distribution partners are adding data feeds. Deliverect announced on 8 October 2026 that it will feed live menu, opening-hours and allergen data into the Yext Knowledge Graph for restaurant clients (MarTech Edge). No revenue terms were disclosed.
  • The product line is widening toward paid media. Yext signed a definitive agreement on 30 September 2026 to acquire Flamel.ai, which runs localized paid campaigns for multi-location brands. Closing is expected by 31 January 2027, funded from cash (per RTTNews).

Bear case

  • Revenue is still shrinking. Revenue was $111.1 million for the quarter ended 31 July 2026 against $113.1 million a year earlier, and the Q2 FY2027 Form 10-Q attributes the decline mainly to customer attrition (filing).
  • Total ARR has not grown. Total ARR was $440.8 million on 31 July 2026, unchanged sequentially, and ARR from smaller customers was $34.9 million against $45.0 million a year earlier (1 September 2026 results).
  • New announcements carry no commercial numbers. The 30 September 2026 Envision coverage by DestinationCRM listed no customer, pricing or ARR figures, and the Deliverect announcement on 8 October 2026 gave none either.
  • The shares trade above the one dated target on file. B. Riley raised its target from $5 to $7 with a Neutral rating on 2 September 2026 (Benzinga ratings summary), and the 28 October 2026 close of $7.33 sits above it. Coverage is thin and aggregator pages disagree on other targets.
  • Acquisitions blur the organic picture. Yext did not disclose prices for GoShine or Flamel.ai, so any ARR they add may not be separable from organic growth in the Q3 report.

Price setup

The last adjusted close was $7.33 on 28 October 2026. The 52-week high is $8.87, 17.4% above that close. The shares are up 34.2% over three months, and the RSI of 66.0 sits below the 78.4 reading of 15 October 2026.

The price has risen from $6.62 on 1 October 2026 to $7.33 without a new financial disclosure, so the move rests on the product announcements and the margin results already reported. The invalidation level of $5.90, carried from the previous note, is a daily close and sits well below the current price.

Crowding evidence is limited to what is visible: a large three-month gain, a price above the only dated analyst target, and a results date about a month away. No SEC Form 4 insider-sale or share-issuance filing is cited here.

Catalysts, next 30 days

  • ~17 November 2026 to ~25 November 2026 (est.): Yext usually announces its results date about two weeks ahead. The Q3 FY2023–FY2025 notices came on 21 November 2023 and 25 November 2024 for early-December reports. The date itself is unconfirmed.
  • ~1 December 2026 (est.): Q3 FY2027 earnings report, just beyond the 30-day window. It is the first report that can show total ARR above $440.8 million and any attributable revenue from Scout, Corvo AI or Flamel.ai.
  • 31 January 2027: Stated outside date for closing the Flamel.ai acquisition.

No confirmed catalyst falls inside the next 30 days.

What would change the view

The case breaks if total ARR is at or below $440.8 million in the Q3 FY2027 report, because the thesis requires AI products to restart recurring-revenue growth. It also breaks if the report and call give no paying-customer count or attributable ARR for Scout, Corvo AI or Flamel.ai while attrition continues to pull revenue below the $111.1 million of Q2.

On price, a daily close below $5.90 would end the case regardless of the report date. A report showing total ARR above $440.8 million with enterprise net retention at or above 98% would strengthen it.

What it trades with

Yext trades as a small-cap software company whose margin story, not its growth, has driven the 2026 gain. No correlation figures against software peers or the S&P 500 are cited here. The shares react to company-specific items: the Q2 results on 1 September 2026, the Flamel.ai agreement on 30 September 2026 and the quarterly ARR disclosure.

Notes

  • Fiscal year ends 31 January; the 1 September 2026 report covered Q2 FY2027, the quarter ended 31 July 2026.
  • Hearsay Systems closed 1 August 2025, so year-over-year comparisons only begin lapping that acquisition from Q3 FY2027.
  • Coverage is about three to six firms and aggregator panels disagree, so any single published consensus target should be read loosely.
  • The margin framing is non-GAAP; GAAP basic EPS was $0.13 in Q2 FY2027 against non-GAAP $0.21.
