How to read this

The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 27 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.

Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.

Kill line

A daily close below $8.00, a round-number level under the 27 October 2026 close of $9.69, would extend the decline that followed uniQure's four-year AMT-130 data. A refuse-to-file notice on the AMT-130 application, or a FY2026 revenue guide below $48M, would also end the case.

Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

The thesis

ClearPoint Neuro's case as the delivery route for uniQure's AMT-130 Huntington's gene therapy remains weak. The shares closed at $9.69 on 27 October 2026 (adjusted daily closes), 64.1% below the 52-week high of $26.98 and 33.5% lower over three months. Two scheduled events settle the next stage: ClearPoint's third-quarter 2026 results after the market close on 28 October 2026, and the end of the FDA's 60-day filing review of the AMT-130 application, which falls about 1 November 2026.

The narrative is maturing: the partner story is well known, the 29 September 2026 data reaction is already in the price, and the next news is calendar-driven rather than new. ClearPoint's own guide was cut to $48–52 million from $52–56 million on 3 August 2026. The delivery opportunity still depends on an AMT-130 approval that has not happened.

Bullish and bearish views on ClearPoint Neuro, Inc.

The bull case on ClearPoint Neuro, Inc. (CLPT), in brief: The partner has filed for approval. The bear case: The partner's headline result weakened.

Bull case

  • The partner has filed for approval. uniQure submitted the AMT-130 biologics license application (BLA) to the FDA under accelerated approval on 2 September 2026 and requested priority review. Press reports of the filing say priority review would put a decision around late April or early May 2027.
  • Four-year data still favour treatment. uniQure reported 44% slowing on the composite Huntington's rating scale (cUHDRS) and 61% slowing on Total Functional Capacity against an external control on 29 September 2026. BioPharma Dive reported that analysts see missing control-database data as understating the four-year effect.
  • Management expects the segment to recover. ClearPoint's 3 August 2026 release said new laboratory services should restore growth in biologics and drug delivery in the third quarter. The 28 October 2026 report shows whether that happened.
  • Analyst targets sit far above the price. Lake Street's target was $25 and Stifel's was $22 after the second-quarter report (reported 4 August 2026). B. Riley kept a Buy rating with a $30 target on 18 June 2026. All three predate the four-year data.

Bear case

  • The partner's headline result weakened. The 44% cUHDRS slowing was not statistically significant, against 75% at three years (p=0.003, uniQure, 30 April 2026). BioPharma Dive reported uniQure shares fell about 40% on 29 September 2026, to just below $24.
  • Delivery revenue was shrinking before launch. Biologics and drug delivery revenue fell 15% year over year to $4.0 million in the second quarter (ClearPoint, 3 August 2026). The company cited lower trial-initiation shipments and a prior-year order that did not recur.
  • Costs are rising faster than sales. Second-quarter revenue was $10.88 million against a $12.733 million consensus, and operating expenses rose 51% to $17.0 million.
  • An S-3 registration statement is on file and the Oberland note tranches of $25 million and $50 million can be drawn before 31 December 2026.

Price setup

The adjusted daily closes show $9.69 on 27 October 2026. That is back under the $10.00 level named in an earlier note, and the 14-day relative strength index (RSI) is 37.3, up from 19.8 on 14 October 2026 when the shares closed at $9.24. An RSI under 30 is usually read as oversold; the current reading is above that line.

The earlier recovery marks all sit above the price. The shares closed at $15.39 on 21 August 2026, $13.83 on 18 September 2026 and $11.45 on 1 October 2026. The $8.00 invalidation level lies below the 14 October 2026 close of $9.24.

Crowding evidence is limited. A company-confirmed earnings date falls today, and an S-3 and the Oberland tranches leave a financing overhang. A resale prospectus covers up to 1,312,570 shares issued to former IRRAS holders, effective 14 January 2026. No heavy retail attention or insider buying is visible in the news reviewed.

Catalysts, next 30 days

  • 31 December 2026: Deadline to draw the Oberland tranches. A drawdown or equity raise would show how the company funds its losses.

Elapsed catalysts

  • 28 October 2026: ClearPoint third-quarter 2026 results after the close, with a call at 4:30 p.m. Eastern (company release dated 14 October 2026). The report shows biologics and drug delivery revenue against the $4.0 million second-quarter figure, the FY2026 guide of $48–52 million, and cash against $29.4 million at 30 June 2026. (passed 9d ago)
  • ~1 November 2026, est.: End of the FDA's 60-day filing review of the AMT-130 application submitted 2 September 2026. uniQure guides to an acceptance decision in the fourth quarter; this review found no acceptance announcement as of 28 October 2026. (passed 5d ago)

What would change the view

A refuse-to-file notice on the AMT-130 application would break the partner path, and acceptance without priority review would lengthen it. A revenue guide below $48 million, or a second year-over-year decline in biologics and drug delivery revenue on 28 October 2026, would show the Q2 shortfall was not a one-quarter event. A new equity offering or early Oberland drawdown would add dilution to a case already short of cash.

The case would improve on acceptance with priority review, growth in biologics and drug delivery revenue and a held guide, alongside uniQure shares recovering above the roughly $24 level of 29 September 2026. The price condition is a daily close below $8.00.

What it trades with

ClearPoint trades as a delivery proxy for uniQure (QURE). Benzinga listed both among the day's gainers on 17 June 2026, when the FDA reversed its position on the AMT-130 filing path, and uniQure's roughly 40% fall on 29 September 2026 came with a steep decline in ClearPoint. AMT-130 regulatory and data headlines have moved the shares more than ClearPoint's own reported numbers. Sample events are too few to measure a stable relationship.

Beyond the partner link, the shares carry small-cap medtech exposure through the neurosurgery navigation and trial-support business, which depends on biopharma trial-initiation activity.

Notes

  • Trades as a delivery proxy for uniQure: AMT-130 regulatory and data headlines have moved the shares more than ClearPoint's own reported numbers.
  • An S-3 registration statement is on file, and the Oberland note facility carries $25M and $50M tranches drawable before 31 December 2026, a standing financing overhang.
  • A resale prospectus covers up to 1,312,570 shares issued to former IRRAS holders (merger closed 20 November 2025), effective 14 January 2026, supply that needs no company action.
  • Operating expenses include the IRRAS acquisition and the CAL Torrey Pines facility taken over in July 2026, so the cost base is not comparable to prior-year quarters.
