How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 25 September 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $12.50, well under the 25 September 2026 close of $14.25 and the 22 October 2026 close of $14.04. A drop in confirmed responses at the 20 November 2026 update, a court filing by Revolution Medicines, or the ERAS-4001 readout slipping into 2027 would also break the case.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

How picks are graded →The thesis
Erasca's pan-RAS drug ERAS-0015 has a dated clinical test on 20 November 2026, when more patients and longer follow-up show whether early pancreatic responses hold. The unresolved patent dispute with Revolution Medicines keeps the case from rating above the low end until that data arrives. The shares closed at $14.04 on 22 October 2026, below the $17.50 July offering price and 37.5% below the 52-week high of $22.47.
The narrative is maturing: the story is well known, the last company announcement was the 10 September 2026 presentation date, and law-firm notices dated 20 October 2026 and 21 October 2026 are the newest items. The 22 October 2026 close is under the $14.25 close of 25 September 2026, the level the prior note set as its breakdown line. The 3-month price change is -25.6% and the 14-day relative strength index (RSI), a momentum gauge on a 0-100 scale, is 45.2. Company news and SEC filings dated after 10 September 2026 turned up nothing new on the business.
Bullish and bearish views on Erasca, Inc.
The bull case on Erasca, Inc. (ERAS), in brief: A larger dataset has a date. The bear case: The patent dispute is open.
Bull case
- A larger dataset has a date. Erasca said on 10 September 2026 that an oral presentation with more ERAS-0015 patients and longer follow-up will take place on 20 November 2026. The announcement contained no new efficacy figures.
- Early pancreatic response rate was high. Erasca's 11 August 2026 second-quarter release reported a 57% response rate at the 32 mg daily dose, combining confirmed and unconfirmed responses at the 25 May 2026 data cutoff.
- Funding is large. Erasca reported $384.3 million in cash, equivalents and marketable securities at 30 June 2026 and about $632.5 million in gross proceeds from the July offering. Its 11 August 2026 release said the funds cover its listed upcoming milestones.
- Analyst targets sit far above the price. J.P. Morgan moved to a street-high $33 target on 27 August 2026, and the consensus target was $23.5 on 28 August 2026. Morgan Stanley (Equal-Weight) raised its target to $21 on 20 July 2026.
- Regulatory access improved. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted ERAS-0015 Fast Track designation for metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma on 24 August 2026. Erasca also guided to pivotal lung and pancreatic cancer trials in 2027 (company release, 13 July 2026).
Bear case
- The patent dispute is open. Erasca disclosed on 27 April 2026 a letter from Revolution Medicines' counsel alleging that ERAS-0015 infringes U.S. Patent No. 12,409,225 and relates to trade secret misappropriation. Erasca says the claims lack merit. A 21 October 2026 headline again raised the allegations, and no court ruling or settlement turned up.
- The shares have already fallen sharply once. Pomerantz LLP reported that the shares dropped 48.3% to $9.90 on 28 April 2026 after the patent letter and a disclosed patient death in the Phase 1 trial. The 2026-07 recovery to $22.47 has since reversed in part.
- Securities litigation continues. Cheng v. Erasca (S.D. Cal., No. 3:26-cv-03481) alleges the company, its chief executive and its chief financial officer omitted patent and trade secret risk when comparing ERAS-0015 with Revolution Medicines' RMC-6236. Pomerantz announced a further investigation on 20 October 2026.
- Price remains below the offering. The 22 October 2026 close of $14.04 is below the $17.50 at which Erasca sold 31,428,572 shares on 14 July 2026.
- The response sample is small. The 57% rate combined confirmed and unconfirmed responses in an early-phase cohort, so the 20 November 2026 update is the first test of whether responses hold as patients are added.
- Spending is rising. Research and development expense was $35.9 million in the quarter ended 30 June 2026, against $21.2 million a year earlier. The 11 August 2026 release did not restate a dated cash runway.
- Cautious ratings exist. B of A Securities kept a Neutral rating with an $18 target on 14 July 2026, and Morgan Stanley's rating is Equal-Weight.
Price setup
The adjusted close was $14.04 on 22 October 2026, down from $16.03 on 9 October 2026. That is 37.5% below the 52-week high of $22.47. The close is 1.5% below the $14.25 close of 25 September 2026, so the earlier low no longer holds. The next reference point below is the $9.90 close reported for 28 April 2026.
Overhead levels are the $17.50 offering price, B of A's $18 target and Morgan Stanley's $21 target. The consensus target of $23.5 (28 August 2026) is well above the shares. Retail and legal-firm attention is visible in the repeated shareholder notices. No insider sales or new share issuance have been reported since the July offering.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- ~10 November 2026, est.: third-quarter 2026 results. Cash after the July offering, research spending and any restated runway.
- 20 November 2026: ERAS-0015 oral presentation. Updated Phase 1 AURORAS-1 monotherapy data with more patients and longer follow-up. This is the date that settles the clinical case.
- By 31 December 2026: ERAS-4001 BOREALIS-1 preliminary data. Erasca guided to the second half of 2026 and has given no date.
What would change the view
A daily close below $12.50 would break the case, as would an update on 20 November 2026 with fewer confirmed responses or shorter durability than the 57% combined rate. A court filing by Revolution Medicines that seeks to restrict ERAS-0015 would also break it. The ERAS-4001 readout moving into 2027 would weaken the second leg of the story.
The case would strengthen if the 20 November 2026 presentation shows a higher confirmed share among more patients, and if Erasca reports no new legal action against ERAS-0015. A weekly close above $17.50, the July offering price, would show the market accepting that data.
What it trades with
Erasca trades against Revolution Medicines news, because RMC-6236 is the benchmark in the patent dispute and in the comparisons that the class action targets. Cancer-focused small and mid-cap biotech shares share its sensitivity to financing conditions. Data from other RAS inhibitors in pancreatic cancer would shift how ERAS-0015 results are read.
Notes
- Revolution Medicines alleged in a letter disclosed on 27 April 2026 that ERAS-0015 infringes U.S. Patent No. 12,409,225; Erasca says the claims lack merit.
- A securities class action, Cheng v. Erasca (S.D. Cal., No. 3:26-cv-03481), covers purchases between 14 January 2026 and 26 April 2026, per law-firm notices.
- The ERAS-0015 response rate reported on 11 August 2026 combined confirmed and unconfirmed responses from an early-phase cohort.
- Erasca sold 31,428,572 common shares at $17.50 in a public offering priced on 14 July 2026, for about $632.5 million in gross proceeds.
- Erasca's 11 August 2026 funding statement covered named upcoming milestones but did not restate a dated cash runway.
