How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 22 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $22, a fresh low under the 22 October 2026 close of $25.12. A September-quarter report with sales again below production would also end the shipment catch-up case.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

How picks are graded →The thesis
Elevra Lithium's shares have fallen through the level that ended the prior read, and nothing yet shows the cash flow turning. They closed at $25.12 on 22 October 2026, 75.5% below the 52-week high of $102.33 (adjusted daily closes). The September-quarter report on 27 October 2026 and the 30 October 2026 Ewoyaa sale deadline settle whether the case recovers.
The quarter is the first of fiscal 2027. It is the first dated test of whether shipments catch up with production, which the FY26 results left open: production of 197,967 dry metric tonnes (dmt) against sales of 181,494 dmt.
The narrative is dead on price: the shares closed at $33.61 on 9 October 2026, the day after the binding 240,000 dmt LG Energy Solution supply contract was reported, and at $25.12 on 22 October 2026. The prior daily-close level of $28 has broken. A weekly close above the 28 August 2026 close of $59.09, together with a report showing sales at least matching production, would contradict this reading.
Bullish and bearish views on Elevra Lithium Limited
The bull case on Elevra Lithium Limited (ELVR), in brief: A named buyer through 2029. The bear case: Profit did not convert to cash.
Bull case
- A named buyer through 2029. The binding LG Energy Solution contract covers 240,000 dmt: 30,000 in 2026, 60,000 in each of 2027 and 2028, and 90,000 in 2029, with up to 90,000 dmt more by mutual agreement (Mining Weekly, 8 October 2026). Pricing is market-linked.
- Guidance allows shipments to catch up. Elevra guided FY27 concentrate sales to 200,000–230,000 dmt in its FY26 results on 28 August 2026. A September-quarter report with sales at or above production would be the first dated proof.
- Elevra reported US$255 million of cash at 30 June 2026, before those proceeds.
- Huayou has received Australian Foreign Investment Review Board approval for its proposed takeover of Atlantic Lithium, per the same coverage.
- Selling is extreme. The 14-day relative strength index, a momentum gauge where readings under 30 mark heavy selling, was 10.3 on 22 October 2026, and the three-month price change was −55.5% (adjusted daily closes). The reading says nothing about when the shares turn.
Bear case
- Profit did not convert to cash. FY26 net profit was US$44 million, including a US$156 million impairment reversal, while group operating cash flow was an outflow of US$44 million (FY26 results, 28 August 2026). One more quarter of outflow would extend the gap.
- The 8 September 2026 pre-feasibility study puts initial expansion output in mid-2027, outside the coming report.
- Good news did not hold the shares. The LG contract was announced on 8 October 2026. The close on 9 October 2026 was $33.61, and the close on 22 October 2026 was $25.12. The contract's 2026 volume of 30,000 dmt is small against FY26 production of 197,967 dmt.
- Ewoyaa cash is not secured. Under Elevra's 1 October 2026 update, if Ghana has not approved by 30 October 2026, Huayou may complete the sale or terminate and pay a US$5 million break fee. If Ghana rejects Huayou's application on or before that date, no break fee is payable. No report of Ghanaian approval had appeared in searches as of 23 October 2026.
Price setup
The adjusted close was $25.12 on 22 October 2026, 75.5% below the 52-week high of $102.33. The three-month change was −55.5%. The 14-day relative strength index was 10.3.
The $28 daily-close level cited in the prior note has broken, so the shares are at a new low for the decline that began after the 28 August 2026 close of $59.09. No moving-average data is available for this note, and a reading that oversold carries no information on timing.
Crowding evidence is limited to what is observable. The quarterly report is five sessions away, which makes the next days event-driven. No insider-sale or share-issuance filings appeared in company news or filings for the period. The shares trade on Nasdaq as depositary shares alongside the ASX line.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- 19 November 2026: Elevra's 2026 annual general meeting (announced 30 September 2026). It is a governance event with no operating information.
Elapsed catalysts
- 26 October 2026 (6:30pm EDT) / 27 October 2026 (9:30am AEDT): Investor webcast on the September 2026 quarter, per Elevra's Form 6-K. (passed 10d ago)
- 27 October 2026: September-quarter FY27 activities report. It tests sales against production, realised price against the prior US$921 per dmt reference, and operating cash flow. (passed 10d ago)
- 30 October 2026: Ghana approval deadline for the Ewoyaa sale to Huayou. (passed 7d ago)
What would change the view
The case breaks further if the 27 October 2026 report shows sales below production again, another group operating cash outflow, or realised prices at or under US$921 per dmt with costs near the US$950 top of the guided range. A rejection of Huayou's application by Ghana, or a Huayou termination with the US$5 million break fee, would remove the cash the sale was meant to bring.
On price, a daily close below $22 would extend the decline to a fresh low under the 22 October 2026 close. The thesis improves if the report shows sales at or above production and the sale completes or a firm Ghanaian approval is announced. A weekly close above $59.09 would contradict the dead-narrative reading.
What it trades with
Elevra's shares track lithium prices and the pricing of spodumene concentrate, since the LG contract is market-linked. They also depend on Huayou, which is both the Ewoyaa buyer and the proposed acquirer of Atlantic Lithium, in which Elevra holds about 4.1%. A delay at Ghanaian authorities affects both. Sentiment toward Australian-listed lithium producers is the other main outside driver.
Notes
- Elevra's Nasdaq:ELVR line is a depositary-share line alongside ASX:ELV; the two lines can differ in currency and liquidity.
- Elevra has a 30 June fiscal year-end, so the September quarter is the first quarter of FY27.
- The Ewoyaa sale to Huayou needs Ghanaian approvals; by 30 October 2026 Huayou can complete or terminate and pay a US$5 million break fee, unless Ghana has rejected the application.
