How to read this
The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on the last session; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.
Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.
Kill line
A daily close below $12, which would extend the slide from the $18.65 close of 1 October 2026 and sit well under the $14 Kerrisdale Capital objective. Third-quarter revenue below the $19.5 million guidance floor would also break the case.
Not a pickResearch coverage at low conviction. A medium-or-higher call would open a pick on the scoreboard.

Everspin Technologies makes magnetoresistive random-access memory (MRAM) chips, and its revenue is growing while its shares are not. The adjusted close was $13.93 on 27 October 2026, 68.3% below the 52-week high of $44.01. The third-quarter report decides whether revenue meets the $19.5–20.5 million guidance the company issued on 5 August 2026.
The shares closed at $18.65 on 1 October 2026 and at $13.66 on 14 October 2026. The close of $13.93 on 27 October 2026 is in the same range, and the 14-day relative strength index (RSI, a 0–100 momentum gauge) is 31.3. Company releases dated 20 October 2026 and 24 October 2026 concern industry standards work and market focus and contain no guidance change, financing or customer loss. The narrative is maturing: the May short-seller and retail-attention cluster is well known, and the shares are 3.7% lower over three months.
Conviction stays low. Nothing new since the 15 October 2026 note changes the revenue picture, and the evidence does not yet show the shares beating the S&P 500 over the next three months.
Bullish and bearish views on Everspin Technologies, Inc.
The bull case on Everspin Technologies, Inc. (MRAM), in brief: Revenue is growing at a double-digit pace. The bear case: Growth still produces losses under standard accounting.
Bull case
- Revenue is growing at a double-digit pace. Second-quarter revenue rose 42% year over year to $18.7 million, and MRAM product sales rose to $15.3 million from $11.1 million (8-K, 5 August 2026). Third-quarter guidance of $19.5–20.5 million implies a further sequential step.
- A $40 million government-prime contract has started to book. Everspin cited initial non-product revenue under a recently signed $40 million contract with a US prime contractor as a second-quarter driver (8-K, 5 August 2026). The release gives no timeline or deliverables.
- Everspin now chairs a standards group. On 20 October 2026 the company announced that Steffen Hellmold, its vice president of corporate strategy, chairs a new JEDEC task group exploring a persistent-memory standard built on low-power DRAM (LPDDR) interfaces. The announcement states no revenue or customer.
- Analyst targets sit above the price. Maxim Group initiated with a Buy and a $25 target on 12 October 2026, Needham's target is $19 (6 August 2026) and JonesTrading initiated at $38 (10 July 2026).
Bear case
- Growth still produces losses under standard accounting. Third-quarter guidance on 5 August 2026 was a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) loss of $0.05–$0.10 per share against non-GAAP profit of $0.10–$0.15. The headline profit is the adjusted figure.
- The shares fell through a fresh Buy initiation. The close was $13.66 on 14 October 2026, two sessions after Maxim's $25 target, and the close of $13.93 on 27 October 2026 shows no recovery of the $18.65 level of 1 October 2026. Company filings give no reason for the decline.
- The AI-server link is an evaluation only. The 4 August 2026 MaxLinear memorandum discloses no customer, volume, revenue or timeline. The 24 October 2026 headline on AI and satellite markets names no revenue-bearing award.
- A named short seller has not withdrawn. Kerrisdale Capital published a short report with a $14 objective on 19 May 2026, and the shares trade at that level.
- Leveraged-product attention widens daily ranges. A 2x leveraged single-stock exchange-traded fund on Everspin (MRAX) listed on 11 August 2026, and Benzinga's May coverage showed heavy retail attention around the stock.
Price setup
The adjusted daily close was $13.93 on 27 October 2026. That is 68.3% below the 52-week high of $44.01 and below the $18.65 close of 1 October 2026. A third-party quote of about $16.94 on 7 October 2026 (Syfe) shows the slide ran through that range.
The RSI of 31.3 is near the level usually read as oversold but above the 20.6 reading of 14 October 2026. The $14 Kerrisdale objective and the $12 invalidation level are the two prices the case is measured against. A daily close below $12 would break the case.
Crowding evidence is limited to retail attention and the leveraged ETF. The earnings report is estimated within ten sessions, and the stock's daily ranges are wide around such events. No filing in the last 30 days shows insider selling or a share issuance.
Catalysts, next 30 days
- 31 December 2026: end of the stated fourth-quarter window. Shipments inside the window would turn a distribution announcement into an order path.
Elapsed catalysts
- ~4 November 2026, est.: third-quarter 2026 results. Everspin reported on Wednesday 5 August 2026 after the close and on 5 November 2025 for the prior third quarter, and a date announcement was not found in searches. The report shows whether revenue meets $19.5–20.5 million and whether a revenue-bearing datacenter or AI customer is named. (passed 2d ago)
- Report call commentary on the Teledyne HiRel channel. The 2 September 2026 agreement anticipates customer availability of the 256Mb PERSYST part in the fourth quarter of 2026. Management comments on schedule are the next dated update. (passed 65d ago)
What would change the view
Third-quarter revenue below the $19.5 million guidance floor would break the case, as would a guidance cut for the fourth quarter. A financing announcement, customer loss or insider-sale filing before the report would also weaken it.
A named, revenue-bearing datacenter or AI customer, or a revenue beat with narrowing GAAP losses, would improve the evidence. A daily close below $12 ends the thesis as written.
What it trades with
Everspin trades with small-cap memory and semiconductor names and with retail-momentum stocks, and its moves in May tracked other top gainers on Benzinga's movers lists. Defense and aerospace demand (the $40 million prime contract and the Teledyne HiRel channel) gives part of its revenue a different driver from the AI-server story. The 2x leveraged ETF adds a daily-rebalancing flow to a microcap underlying.
Notes
- GAAP and non-GAAP results diverge: second-quarter 2026 GAAP loss was $0.15 per share against non-GAAP profit of $0.11, and third-quarter guidance repeats the gap.
- Sell-side coverage is thin and uneven: JonesTrading initiated at $38 (10 July 2026), Needham's target is $19 (6 August 2026) and Maxim initiated at $25 (12 October 2026).
- Kerrisdale Capital's short position and $14 objective, published 19 May 2026, have not been withdrawn.
- A 2x leveraged single-stock ETF on Everspin (MRAX, listed 11 August 2026) sits on a microcap underlying, and daily ranges are wide.
- The 4 August 2026 MaxLinear memorandum and the 2 September 2026 Teledyne HiRel agreement disclose no volume, revenue or end customer.
