How to read this

The red mark is the published kill line — the price that would prove the thesis wrong. The dot is where the name closed on 26 October 2026; a dot left of the mark has closed through its line.

Distance is drawn on a square-root scale, so close calls get the room. Past 8% a row reads well clear, with a hollow dot to show the figure is off the drawn scale. Rows run tightest first.

Kill line

A daily close below $38, a level beneath where the shares traded before the 23 October 2026 RAINFOL-02 readout. A cut to 2026 revenue or adjusted operating profit guidance at the third-quarter report would also break the case.

Open pick Medium conviction, opened at $44.69. Kill line at open: $38.00 (daily close); graded by at the latest.

The thesis

Genmab's own pipeline now has two Phase 3 wins in October 2026, the ovarian cancer drug Rina-S and the lymphoma drug epcoritamab. That makes it more credible that Genmab can rely less on its royalty from Johnson & Johnson's DARZALEX. Two near-term events settle it: the 28 October 2026 investor update on the RAINFOL-02 data and the third-quarter report, which Genmab's financial calendar estimates for 5 November 2026. The question is whether guidance and the regulatory plan back up the October rally.

The case rests on dated clinical results. On 23 October 2026 Genmab said the Phase 3 RAINFOL-02 trial of rinatabart sesutecan (Rina-S) in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer met its main endpoint, progression-free survival (PFS), and its key secondary endpoint, overall survival (OS). The comparator was chemotherapy chosen by the investigator. On 5 October 2026 Genmab and AbbVie reported that the Phase 3 EPCORE DLBCL-2 study of epcoritamab cut the risk of disease progression or death by 51% in large B-cell lymphoma. Underneath both, the royalty business is still growing: J&J reported third-quarter DARZALEX net sales of $4.239B on 13 October 2026.

The narrative is accelerating. The Phase 3 readout came on 23 October 2026, an Incyte colorectal cancer collaboration followed on 24 October 2026, and three brokers raised their targets on 7 October 2026. The shares closed at $43.79 on 23 October 2026, their 52-week high, after a 51.0% rise over three months. Much of the good news is therefore already in the price. The view holds while the shares stay above $38 and the third-quarter report keeps or raises the 2026 revenue guidance of $4,325–4,525M.

Bullish and bearish views on Genmab A/S ADS

The bull case on Genmab A/S ADS (GMAB), in brief: Rina-S posted a large survival benefit. The bear case: Royalties still make up most of revenue.

Bull case

  • Rina-S posted a large survival benefit. Genmab's 6-K of 23 October 2026 reports a PFS hazard ratio of 0.29 (95% CI 0.23–0.37) in the 584-patient intent-to-treat group. A hazard ratio of 0.29 means a 71% lower risk of progression or death. The OS hazard ratio was 0.43 (95% CI 0.31–0.59), and Genmab reported no new safety signals.
  • The drug works across target levels. The Phase 2 RAINFOL-01 data, released 3 October 2026, showed a 45.9% objective response rate and 9.5-month median PFS. Benefit appeared regardless of how much folate receptor alpha (FRα) the tumours expressed. Patients with low FRα are not eligible for the approved FRα drug mirvetuximab, so this widens the market Rina-S could address.
  • Rina-S has four more Phase 3 trials running. Genmab lists five Phase 3 RAINFOL trials as of 23 October 2026. They cover platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, two platinum-sensitive ovarian settings and first-line maintenance.
  • Epcoritamab has a second Phase 3 win. EPCORE DLBCL-2 cut progression or death by 51% (Genmab and AbbVie, 5 October 2026). EPKINLY net sales were $312M in the first half of 2026, up 48% (H1 2026 report).
  • Guidance was raised in August. The H1 report of 6 August 2026 lifted 2026 revenue guidance to $4,325–4,525M from $4,065–4,395M. First-half revenue rose 25% to $2,051M.
  • Brokers raised their targets. On 7 October 2026 Guggenheim raised its target to $58, HC Wainwright to $50 and Truist to $45, all with Buy ratings.

Bear case

  • Royalties still make up most of revenue. Royalties were $1,708M of $2,051M in first-half 2026 revenue (H1 2026 report). The largest royalty comes from DARZALEX, a drug J&J owns and sells, so any slowdown there reaches Genmab directly.
  • Costs are rising faster than revenue. Adjusted operating expenses rose 28% to $1,270M in the first half of 2026, against 25% revenue growth. Genmab expects $90M of Merus integration charges for 2026.
  • The Rina-S filing path has no dates yet. The 23 October 2026 release says only that Genmab will engage regulators and present the data at a future medical meeting. It gives no filing, approval or launch date. The release also describes the primary analysis population inconsistently, which the full presentation has to clear up.
  • The rally has priced in a lot already. The shares are up 51.0% in three months, closed at their 52-week high of $43.79 on 23 October 2026, and have a 14-day relative strength index (RSI) of 69.8. Truist's $45 target sits just above the last close.

Price setup

The last close was $43.79 on 23 October 2026, which is also the 52-week high in adjusted daily closes. Coverage of the readout day reported a gain of about 9.5% and an intraday high near $44. The 14-day RSI of 69.8 sits just under the 70 level often read as overbought. The 51.0% three-month gain leaves the shares well above their recent trading range.

Crowding shows in a few places. The price is at a fresh high just before an earnings date roughly two weeks away. Benzinga flagged large options trades in the shares on 9 October 2026. That filing records a large holder buying in; it is not insider selling. No share issuance into the rally has been announced.

The $38 level in the invalidation condition lies below where the shares traded before the 23 October 2026 readout. A close under it would mean the market had given back the whole Phase 3 reaction.

Catalysts, next 30 days

  • 28 October 2026: Genmab investor update on RAINFOL-02, at 12:00 p.m. EDT. It is the first chance to see response rates, adverse event rates and the regulatory timeline.
  • ~5 November 2026, est.: Third-quarter 2026 interim report, the date Genmab's financial calendar gives. It shows whether the 2026 guidance of $4,325–4,525M in revenue and $1,065–1,385M in adjusted operating profit is held or raised after the $4.239B DARZALEX quarter.
  • Undated: Full RAINFOL-02 presentation at a medical meeting Genmab has not yet named. This is where the inconsistency over the analysis population gets resolved.

What would change the view

Three things would break the case. Full RAINFOL-02 data could show tolerability problems or an inconsistent benefit in the primary analysis set. Genmab could signal a long regulatory timeline. Or the 5 November 2026 report could cut 2026 revenue or adjusted operating profit guidance.

Price also matters. A daily close below $38 would mean the market had reversed the whole Phase 3 reaction, whatever the news flow. If the shares stall near Truist's $45 target while expenses keep growing faster than revenue, the case would weaken toward lagging the index.

What it trades with

Genmab trades with large-cap oncology names. LLY, IOVA and VSTM appear alongside it in oncology and immunology screens, and that group's interest picked up again in the 25 October 2026 weekly read. A drop in sentiment across the group would weigh on the shares even with good company news.

The ADSs also follow Genmab's primary listing on Nasdaq Copenhagen, so moves in the Danish krone against the dollar affect the US price. Part of the shares' behaviour tracks J&J's DARZALEX sales and AbbVie's commentary on epcoritamab, since both feed Genmab's revenue.

Notes

  • The US-traded shares are American Depositary Shares; the primary listing is on Nasdaq Copenhagen, priced in Danish kroner.
  • Genmab is a foreign private issuer: it files Form 6-K reports with the SEC, not 10-Qs, and its financial statements are in US dollars.
  • Most revenue comes from royalties on partner-owned drugs, chiefly Johnson & Johnson's DARZALEX, so partner sales reports move the shares.
